I love the pattern this stitch creates. You could further emphasis the honeycomb pattern by using a heavier thread, such as a perle cotton #8.
Obviously the tighter or looser you pull on your thread the result will vary. I pulled very little on the vertical threads and tighter on the horizontal ones.
